Why did the United Arab Emirates ban the residents of Hunza and Skardu?

The UAE has banned visit visas for 17 cities in Pakistan, including Hunza and Skardu, while they will be eligible for work visas. The reason for the ban on visit visa is the overstay of people from these areas.

Afzal Mehmood, Pakistan's ambassador to the UAE, has said that the ban has been imposed only on visits, while there is no ban on work visas. People from these areas are still coming here on work visas and working.

Note that this ban was imposed in the first week of March 2022.
